July 8
Jack & Velma Earl stayed one night. Very special! Yesterday we had our Fullmer Reunion here at our home. It was so very nice. Harold & Freda Stromstad and Fern Watkins stayed two nights with us. It was so wonderful to have them with us. As near as I can figure we had thirty five people at the reunion. It was a very special time. About two weeks ago that I spent an afternoon with Evelyn. We went to Idaho Falls and did some shopping and then we had dinner together. It was such an enjoyable afternoon. We thought that Wallace and Charles had gone to Indian Creek to fish but when we got home they had spent the whole day working on the fireplace. It is finished now and looks just beautiful. I finished my oil painting of an Indian village at the foot of the Teton peak. This one I think Charles & Evelyn will get it. So much work goes into a painting! Lots of fun.

On the 10th of July Wallace & I went to the temple with Vonell Summers to get her endowments. It was a wonderful day. We enjoyed eery minute of it. On July 12th Daren Terry and Vonell went through a session at the temple and then they were married. It was a very special ceremony. The spirit of our Heavenly Father was there in such abundance. After the wedding they took pictures outside the temple. We came home because the dinner was here. It turned out wonderful. Patricia had it all out on the table. There was an abundance of food and it was very delicious. The reception that evening was one of the most beautiful that I have seen. Jossie Teeples Webb is my cousin. Her daughter Mrs. Sharp catered the reception. I think that Jossie made a lot of the flowers. It was just beautiful. On the 24th of July Brenda and her family and Wallae and I went fishing at Indian Creek. It was very relaxing. Brenda stayed the night before the 24th. David was with us. Son of Blair & JoAnn Wilding. He is a very special young man. Saturday the 27th was our Stake 24th of July celebration. Brenda had talked me into running the two mile marathon. I ran Friday morning and did it in 30 minutes. Then Friday night I ran again the two miles. I was able to do it in 28 minutes. Then Saturday morning when I went to get out of bed I was so stiff. I decided I could do it. I ran the entire distance and made it in 24 minutes. That is not a super time but for someone who is 70 years old I guess it is not bad.

May 12
We talked to Blair & Philline last Sunday. They are keeping the baby home because they have to keep him away from people so he won't get infections. He is growing and doing fine. He weighs 5 lbs 14 oz. We have heard from Ronda. They are doing fine she says. She said Mark has growths in his nodes. They took a biopsy yesterday morning. We have not heard how it came out.
Blair just called and we are going to meet him in Idaho Falls to have supper. Wallace was gone so we will be late. It was a very wonderful evening. It was nice to be with our family. The baby is doing great. He looks so good.
June 2
All the family called me either on my birthday or Mother's Day. We had an evening out with Blair & Philline and children. The baby is doing fine. We ate out, it was fun. Yesterday Darwin, Charlene, Jared, Mary Ellen and Joshua were here. They had dinner with us. They said they were going to stay all night with us but they got through working on a hitch on their car so they went home.
Ronda called last night. They are doing fine. She has two weeks vacation and they are going to Canada. They have sold their home there. They plan to move to Canada when she graduates from LPN nursing in August. Today we went to Blackfoot. Blair and Philline's baby was blessed today. They named him Phillip John. We had dinner with Blair and Philline and family. LaVar, Brenda and family were there also. We had a very nice day.
June 6
Last Friday was our last day at the high school. The week has gone by fast. Each week goes by fast. I guess that is because I am on the down hill side of life. We got a letter from Ben Speelmon today. It was dated June 4, 1985. He is principal at the High School. He was so good to work for. He is such a special man. He is Bishop of Terreton Second Ward. This is what he wrote.
Dear Wallace & Pearl,
Just a note to thank you for all your help at the school this past year. Your special concerns for the job and your desire to make the buildings and grounds look good is commendable and appreciated. Your positive attitude helped the students and staff want to improve the overall appearance of the building too. You're great!!!!! Have a fun summer. Sincerely Ben Speelmon, Principal
I told Wallace that I wanted this letter framed. I think it is so special to be appreciated. A month from tomorrow is the Fullmer reunion. We will not have all the things done that we would like but so be it. I had to have a tooth capped today. It is just a month tomorrow that I had one done. Very expensive. I don't want to loose them but sure can't afford that every month.
June 10
Tonight at 9:30 pm Ben Wilding called and said DeWayne had called and said that Ida had passed away at 9pm. She had passed out at home and they rushed her to the hospital but she never regained consciousness. We called Uncle George. He said that it had happened so fast that he could not realize what had happened. We asked if we could come over and he said there was nothing we could do. We told him we would come over in the morning. I talked to LaVar. He had to go to St. Anthony and on the way back he stopped to see Uncle Alden & Aunt Julia. He said they were surprised to see him but was happy to see him. He said Julia had a good attitude but she could not gain any weight. I am so glad he stopped to see them.
June 23

Last Monday we went to Hawley Creek with Charles & Evelyn. Alberta Smuin was with Evelyn. It was the most beautiful two days. The weather was perfect. Darin was home from Alaska. He has to go back. He has a good job. Wallace caught a lot of fish. We ate a lot of fish. They were very good. Yesterday we went to Roberts. We bought some groceries and ate out. It was very nice. This morning is a very beautiful Sunday morning. Today is LaVar & Brenda's wedding anniversary. They were here last night for a few minutes. Vonell and Daren were with them. They brought their wedding invitation and it was beautiful.
June 24
Today I got up at 4 AM and oil painted with Brenda. It was cold this morning. It is now 10 AM and I have a fire in the furnace. It is raining outside and very miserable. Wallace went to see Blair to see if they could sell the truck. Charles & Evelyn are still at Hawley Creek. I'll bet it is miserable there. Sunday we went to see Alden and Julia. Her attitude is very good. She now weighs 86 lbs. She is so thin!

March/April 1985
March 17
This morning when Wallace got up he had severe angina. He went back to bed and went to sleep. When he is quiet the pain goes away. When he woke up he wanted to go to Blackfoot to see the new baby. We went to the hospital to see Philline. She looked good but tired. The baby was taken to Pocatello because he was so small. They took the oxygen off last night after he was in Pocatello. Blair and the kids were going to Pocatello to see the baby but because Wallace was not feeling well, we came back home. We stopped in Idaho Falls and had supper. Very nice. 2 degrees below zero last night. I guess it is good because of the lake.
March 20
Today Ida and George Emery and their daughter Linda came to see us. Ida has oxygen on all the time. She was so tired. We were so glad to see them. It was such a beautiful day. There is still lots of snow but the sun felt so warm. They did not stay very long because Ida wanted to go home. I hope she will get out often. It will make her stronger. George looked good. Linda is going out some. There are four women who have lost their husbands, they get together and have fun together.
March 22
This morning it has snowed a little but it is zero again. I don't suppose it will ever get to spring. Heavenly Father is blessing us because of the lake. If it got warm real fast the lake would go over.
March 25
Today was Kelly's birthday. Saturday Jake won three of his wrestling matches. He lost one. Kelly and Kirk did not get a metal but I'll bet that they will. We saw the new baby yesterday. We got to touch him in the isolette and he is just perfect, so wonderful. He has started to eat. He is taking Philline's milk which she has pumped out. He has gained 4 oz. since Thursday, in three days. Darwin & Charlene's boy Jared, has got into some real trouble. Hope they will be able to get things straightened out. We called Patricia last night. They are doing fine. We are planning to go to Salt Lake the first week in April. We will be with them on Easter. That will be special. The roads are slick and the police have asked people not to travel. All main roads were blocked such a blizzard! Worse of the season.
April 3
Blair & Philline's little boy had some trouble. He had fluid around his heart and a heart murmer. He lost down to his birth weight. Wallace went to Blackfoot yesterday and the baby was doing fine again. He weighs 4 lbs. now. It has been beautiful weather for about a week. The lake is being pumped and it is going down. So that is not a problem now. Hope the situation does not change. We plan to go to Bountiful on Thursday. I have an appointment with Dr. Wilson and a mammogram.
April 11
A week ago tomorrow Wallace and I went to Bountiful Utah. Patricia made an appointment with Dr. Wilson for a mammogram. When we got to Utah we found that Larry was in the hospital and that he would be having surgery the next morning April 5th. He had a colostomy. He is so amazing. I think he is so used to pain that surgery is easy. Anyway he got along fine and they hope this will take away all the pain he has been having. If they would have let him he would have got up off the gurney and walked to his bed. We left Monday and he came home the next day. When we got home we found that LaVar and Brenda's Kelly was in the hospital. He has been bleeding from the rectum. They do not know what is the trouble. Uncle Alden called. He sounded depressed. He said Julia was loosing her hair and she was depressed. Wallace went to Blackfoot to sell the truck on an auction but was not successful. We saw Blair and Philline's baby on the way home. He is doing fine. So cute.
April 30
Last night we took Orin and Effie Petersen to Rexburg. My Uncle Fremont Fullmer died April 26 at Salem Idaho. He was my dad's brother. The last of daddy's family. Uncle Fremont & Aunt Gilda had three daughters and two sons. We understand that both boys are dead. One was killed in an auto accident when he was a teenager. We found out one boy is still alive. Today is the funeral. It will be in Sugar City because the church house in Salem is being remodeled. Alden & Julia were at the viewing. Julia looked good. Alden said she was tired. We had a very nice evening. We went around the college then out to Parker and to St. Anthony. It was where Effie grew up. Then we went to Rexburg and had supper together. It was a very pleasant evening. Effie is sometime negative but she was not at all last night. Phillip, Blair & Philline's baby has had a rough time. He was in the hospital again but Sunday we talked to them and they said he was home. That he seemed to be doing ood, had gained some weight.

February/March 1985
Yesterday Blair, Philline, Becky, David, Joddi & Wendy came to see us. It was so nice to visit with them. They brought us their car. They had bought a new van. They are going to put our home in their name and pay us so much a month. We have not worked out the details. Joddi and David washed the car and spent all day yesterday and washed and cleaned the car. Brenda called Patricia and Patricia was upset about Ronda. I know it was because she felt Ronda might get hurt again. We pray not. Aunt Velma and Uncle Jack came but we were at church and we missed them. Darn it!
Today I climbed the pole in the house for the grandchildren. They thought I was funny.
February 29, 1985
Yesterday Wallace had some severe heart pain and trouble breathing. I called the doctor after the pain had subsided. Wallace was resting. The doctor said to let him rest but if the pain returned I was to call the ambulance and take him to the hospital. He has slept quietly. Last night Wallace slept fine. He had to urinate several times but did fine. Glade called last night. They are fine. Both of them are going to school. Glade said his commanding officer came to his office to tell him what a good job he was doing. We have not heard from Ronda for a while. We pray that she is doing ok.
March 14, 1985
It has been a while since I have written in this book. The sun is shining today but this morning it was so white and it was zero this morning but it was like a winter wonderland. Gloreen, Darwin" and Charlene's daughter has been with us since last June. We have got along very well and we have enjoyed her most of the time. This last month she has been unhappy with us because we felt that LeeAnn Bezold was not good for her. She and Gloreen talked about sex and going all the way. To us this was very wrong and we told Gloreen that she was not to go to LeeAnn's home. She went without our permission in fact she felt that we had no right to restrict her in anyway. She and LeeAnn decided that Gloreen would be better is she was not in our home and she could do whatever she pleased. She was going to Idaho Falls to live. I don't know what she thought she was going to use for money. I found a letter she wrote so we took her home before she could carry out her plan. We were very upset. Charlene said that Gloreen would finish up the year in Pocatello. We pray that she will graduate. We love her. Rom is in Price with Ronda and boys.
March 16, 1985
Today Blair & Philline called. We have a new grandson. He was born at 10:00 this morning. He was six weeks premature. He weighed 3lbs 9 oz. He was 16" long. Blair was in Boise with the ball team when Philline went into labor. They called Blair. He got there about an hour before the baby came. She was in labor about 12 hours. Her mother was with her. The baby is in Pocatello hospital because he is premature and also so small. Blair said he seemed to be ok. We pray that he will be ok. We had Tyler with us today. It is so much fun to have him with us. He is so good. Brenda took her little boys wrestling to Blackfoot. She did not find Blair home. LaVar took Wallace around the north side of the lake today. Wallace said there is a huge amount of water going into the lake. They are pumping it out but more are going into the lake than they can pump out.

Feb. 16, 1985
Last week LaVar & Brenda went to the wrestling tournament at Boise. Kevin was wrestling 115 class. He won his matches. He is State Champion in his weight class. All the boys that went down to the tournament got drunk. Some of the boys went home with their parents and were not involved. When the boys began to drink Kevin left. We are so proud of him!
There was a lot of snow last Friday and the wind began to blow and we had a real blizzard. The freeway 15 was blocked as well as other roads. School was out. School was out several days before because of cold weather. It was 50 below zero one night. It never got above zero for about two weeks. It is ten above zero this morning, seems wonderful.
Rom is with Ronda. She went to the airport in Salt Lake and picked him up. We pray that everything will be well with her. We worry a lot.
Brenda called Patricia last night. Brenda called me to tell me what she had said. Russell had wrestled and came in 4th in district. He got to go to State. He did not score in State but that was good. Larry & Patricia had gone to wrestling matches. Larry is still having a rough time with his health. Patricia said they are taking it one day at a time.

Last night Ronda called. She had hoped and planned that she and Rom could get together and make a good marriage. She said that he said unless she moved to Canada, and quit school that he would not come to the states. She was so upset because he blamed her for all their troubles & her family too. She called about 12 o'clock. She needed moral support. He surely can make her feel that she is nothing. He has had lots of practice. He has had eleven years.
We called Patricia after we talked to her. We felt that she needed someone else to tell her that she was special and that we all love her. I asked her to promise me that she would call Bishop Coleman this morning. I hope she keeps her promise.
Last night she was even unsure of God's love for her. She was worried about her car and I am sure money in general. It won't be easy but she can make it if she can build up her self esteem again. May God bless her and give her strength and courage.

Jan 15-21
This morning the furnace was off and the school was so cold. We worked and was tired, but feel better tonight. Brenda & Tyler had lunch with us today. We enjoyed them very much.
Today was Grandpa's birthday. He is 69 years old today. We worked this morning. Brenda came after ten a.m. and we went to town with her. We had dinner together. Spent time getting groceries, Kevin had to see the Dr. Jake & Tyler also saw the doctor. I went to see the Dr. to see about my tests but they did not know. I have a wonderful husband. God bless him.
We went to see Kevin & Kim wrestle. Kim was so tired because he had to run, jump rope, etc. So he lost his match. Kevin was sick and he won his match but it was too hard on him. He did very well. I hate to see them make sports more important than health.
Wallace is sick this morning. I am sure he has the flu too. Brenda is sick. Kelly is home sick. Lots of flu around. We are going to the Dr. to take Wallace.
Brenda has been very ill. Yesterday and today. This evening I took her to the emergency room. The Dr. said she had the flu and she must have lots of fluids. She is to call him tomorrow and tell him how she is.
Went to LaVar and Brenda's to get dinner. Brenda has been so sick. Wallace was not well either but he slept while I was gone. Kelly, Kim, Tyler, & Jake have not been well. LaVar has been sick but he has been out patrolling.
Went to work, Wallace also. He did not feel well but he took care of the furnace. I went ahead and cooked dinner for LaVar, Brenda, Jake & Tyler. When I got home from work in the afternoon I slept.

Jan 8-14
Today we went to work and then Fern Edwards came down and said his brother Rex was sick. I went down and called the ambulance. He is in intensive care. I went to see the Dr. and then we went to the temple, a very good session. The high priest treated everyone at the Sizzler who went to the temple. They were trying to get fourty families to go. I'll bet they about made it. It was very special.
Fern Edwards called last night. Said his brother Rex was some better. He had eaten part of a meal and the Dr. felt better about him. Today was a hectic day at school. I don't know what made the difference.
Today Kevin and Kim are going to wrestle. Kim is having a hard time with his weight. Gloreen is going to Firth with the girl's basketball. We went to the wrestling match. West Jefferson had 46 and North Fremont 16. Kevin pinned his man in seconds. Kim made his weight.
Worked today. Kirk, Kelly, Jake and Tyler stayed with us. LaVar and Brenda went to the wrestling matches at Sugar City. They ran off the road and came very near coliding with the school bus and cattle truck. We prayed for their safety. God blessed them. We are so grateful.
Today we worked. We had all our hours in but we could not leave the school like it was. The kids were with us again. Tyler went with me to work and he was an angel. Gloreen went to a ballgame here. They won their game. They sure needed a win. (Varsity)
Today Blair called. He told me about their trip to California. They had a good trip. LaVar called & wanted us to come down and watch the wrestling match. But Wallace has not felt very well so we stayed home. Patricia called. She does not think Rom could change so soon but like Blair said we hope and pray that it is true.
Tuesday we had 41 couple from the High Priests and 30 couples from the Elders who went to the temple. All from the Terreton 1st Ward. Very Special.

January 1985
Wallace and I had a very Merry Christmas. Ronda & boys were here. Blair, Philline and family LaVar, Brenda & family were here on Christmas Eve. Ronda brought Brother & Sister Roberts from Price Utah & their four daughters. Vonell got her engagement ring for Christmas. Darin was here with her. On the first day of 1985 I am so grateful for a warm and comfortable home and for a loving husband and wonderful children, grandchildren and 2 great GC. Gloreen, Darwin and Charlene's daughter came today. We will all go to school in the morning. Wallace and I to work.
Back to work today. It was hard, my body aked(ached). I will have to get into the routine again. Some fellow called about the truck. It would be such a blessing if we could get out of debt! How I would like that!
Today was a work day. I am still tired. I guess the sale on the truck fell through. Kirk, Kelly, Jake & Tyler stayed with us for a couple of hours. Vonell came after them when she came home from town. It was so nice to have them with us.
Today the man called about the truck. We will get enough from it to pay the bills against it and less than a thousand left, not much for all the work Wallace did on it, but we are glad to get it sold because it was costing us $100.00 a month for interest on the loan we had taken out on it. Disgusting!
Wallace & I both worked hard at the church. We came home very tired. Brenda cut our hair. She is under pressure, always so much to do. Alden & Julia called. She has healed up from her surgery but she has to see her cancer specialist on Wed. She is very apprehensive. They are going through a very bad time.
Today was fast and testimony meeting. It was about families. Good meeting. Charles & Evelyn, Shalene, Thommy, & Johny were here. We enjoyed their visit very much. Today we got our temple recommends from the bishop. It is a very good feeling to feel worthy of a temple recommend.
It has snowed all day. We hate to see it snow because Wallace has to shovel snow. Jake & Tyler had supper with us. It is so much fun to have them with us. They like to eat with us. Tyler sits on grandpa's lap. They both love it.
